The Nebraska Justice Reinvestment Working Group will convene for a meeting at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at the Country Club of Lincoln, 3200 South 24th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Discussion items will include: Strengthening front-end responses can lower recidivism; prison release data; and focusing supervision resources to lower risk of recidivism during re-entry.

The agenda is kept current and the public may inspect or obtain the agenda at the Crime Commission Office, 5th floor of the Nebraska State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall South, Lincoln, NE, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Individuals requiring auxiliary aids may call 471-3710 or write to the Commission.

Invitation for Comment on a Grant Request for Criminal Justice Projects

The Nebraska Crime Commission invites public input on projects to become part of Nebraska’s FY 2014 Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) award. The JAG formula grant is allocated to Nebraska for administration by the U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ). JAG will provide grant resources to units of state and local government, nonprofit, and faith based organizations for criminal justice projects. The Nebraska JAG project proposal will be submitted to USDOJ June 2014 as part of an application requesting formula grant funds.
